A message from our new Series Director

As you may have already seen, Series Founders Tara & Brad Melville have decided to hang up their running shoes and pass on the torch that is TRi KiDS.

My name is Ryan Baldwin and I’m honoured to introduce myself as the new Series Director for the TRi KiDS Triathlon Series.

I’ve been a part of TRi KiDS since 2012; first as an athlete, then volunteer, and finally as a crew member. From my very first experience with the Series, I knew that it was something special. Organizing an event series built just for kids that promotes physical activity is the opportunity of a lifetime and I’m thrilled to be taking on the task.

In the coming months, you will hear more communication from me regarding updates for 2022 and other great opportunities to engage with the Series.

While it’s been a couple of years since “normal”, we are hoping that 2022 allows us to return to a full slate of races in Ontario with 100% capacity. Our discussions with municipalities are ongoing, but we will let you know if there are any updates. We will announce our finalized dates and venues in early December and open registration in early January. (P.S. Newsletter subscribers will get early access to registration so subscribe if you haven’t already!)

If you ever have any questions or comments (or just want to say hi) please feel free to email us or message us on social media, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for supporting TRi KiDS over the past 13 seasons—we are truly grateful and cannot wait for many more years.

– Ryan

TRi KiDS Milton – Final Race of 2021

We are so grateful we were able to put on three races this season. It allowed us to reconnect with TRi KiDS, their families and our awesome Race Crew. We end the 2021 season with our favourite race, TRi KiDS Milton. The 340 athletes registered for this sold out race will receive their Race Weekend Guide by email on Monday, August 30th. Please check your inbox for it.

This race will also be the final race for Founders Tara and Brad Melville. After 13 seasons of TRi KiDS racing we have decided to hang up our runners and pass the torch. TRi KiDS Milton will be a bitter sweet race indeed as we say goodbye to the many loyal families who have been on this journey with us for all these years. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for the support and confidence you’ve bestowed on us. You supported our mission to deliver a safe, fun, all-inclusive triathlon event for kids. Most importantly, we’ve all celebrated our motto COMPLETE, NOT COMPETE!

You’ll see us around of course, as TRi KiDS hopefully returns to a full slate of races next year.
